H55’S B23 ENERGIC TO PERFORM FLYBYS AT THE ROLEX SWITZERLAND SAIL GRAND PRIX
Geneva, Switzerland – 19 September, 2025 – Building on their newly announced collaboration, two pioneering Swiss entities — the Switzerland SailGP Team, led on the water by three-time Olympian Sébastien Schneiter, and H55, co-founded by aviation pioneer André Borschberg — will unite to showcase the future of sustainable mobility during the Rolex Switzerland Sail Grand Prix in Geneva, over the September 20–21 2025 weekend.
Spectators in the SailGP Race Village, as well as audiences worldwide watching on television and online, will witness the next chapter in clean innovation as H55’s fully electric B23 Energic airplane performs daily flybys over Lake Geneva before racing begins.
The flybys will take place between 15:10 and 15:20, as the SailGP teams warm up for races scheduled from 15:30 to 17:00. At the controls will be André Borschberg, co-founder of H55 and Solar Impulse, who holds multiple aviation records including the longest solo flight in history — five days and five nights from Japan to Hawaii in 2015.
This will mark the first-ever SailGP event in Switzerland with 12 international teams competing in fast- paced, high-adrenaline races. While the best sailors in the world “fly” at speed across the water, H55’s electric aircraft will take flight overhead, symbolizing a shared mission to advance performance and sustainability.
André Borschberg commented: “SailGP and H55 share the same vision: proving that high performance and sustainability can go hand in hand. Just as SailGP pushes the limits of sailing with cutting-edge technology and renewable energy, we are bringing that same philosophy to aviation. The B23 Energic will be delivered to flight schools next year to train future pilots world wide – a concrete step toward making clean aviation a reality. Flying over Lac Léman alongside SailGP is not only symbolic – it shows how innovation across disciplines can accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility.”
Sébastien Schneiter, the Skipper of the Switzerland SailGP Team, added “Having H55 and the B23 Energic with us in Geneva is a perfect example of how Switzerland unites performance, innovation, and sustainability. Just as SailGP pushes sailing to new limits, H55 is about is bringing its electric trainer to market, giving flight schools a certified solution for the future of pilot training. Together, we’re showing that Swiss technology can inspire the world toward cleaner mobility.”
By bringing together world-class sailing and pioneering electric aviation, the collaboration demonstrates Switzerland’s leadership in clean technologies and its commitment to inspiring industries, governments, and the public to accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility.
